Home Food Vendors Needed for Harvest Picnic

We are putting together a food market for the Harvest Picnic and are inviting a handful of home food vendors to sell their products at the picnic. If you or your domestic help provide a food product (for example bagels, tortillas, tofu, etc.) that you would like to sell at the picnic please contact Anne Bouma at atmbouma-pers(at)usa.net or mobile 0912-456-471.
 

Fall Harvest Picnic

We are trying something new for 2012. Come and celebrate together the bounty of the earth at our fall Harvest Picnic.

· When: Saturday 13 October from 1:00—3:00 PM.

· What it’s all about: Fill your picnic basket, pack your blanket, oil your folding chairs and let’s meet together to enjoy a community get-together.

· Entrance: Birr 20 per person over three years of age. Once inside, there will be free activities and game for all ages.

Our first PTA meeting of the year will be on 14 September. We will update everyone on current PTA events and activities as well as vote on some by-law changes (see below). Childcare for grade 5 and below will be provided by the Student Council and paid for by the PTA.

Proposed By-Law Changes:
1) We would like to change Executive Council to Executive Team
2) We would like to add 2 positions to the Executive Team as below:

Wine & Cheese Reception, Friday 7 September

Please join us on Friday 7 September from 6:00—8:00 PM in the cafeteria for a wine and cheese reception to welcome new families and for the whole ICS community to re-connect this new school year. All ICS parents, teachers, and faculty are welcome.

ICS PTA Welcome Guide 4th Edition

The ICS Welcome to Addis Guide is an initiative of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of the International Community School (ICS) in Addis Ababa. It is downloadable from the ICS website for anybody with internet access and quite a few expat families used it to get acquainted with this city. It is up for revision. I am sure many of you have found out about great places and we all can benefit from an updated ICS Welcome to Addis Guide.

The ICS Spring Carnival will take place on Saturday 28 April from 2:00–6:00 PM. We are seeking parents who can give one hour of their time to assist in different activities on the day (games, crafts, bouncy castle, set-up and clean-up, etc). The theme of this year's carnival is "Hawaiian Luau" (a luau is a Hawaiian party and feast), and it promises to be a fun-filled event for the whole family!
