June Examinations for HS Students

All high school students are expected to be here through the final half-day of school on Friday 14 June. Early examinations will not be possible, except in exceptional circumstances and only with written approval of the principal. 

Here is the tentative schedule with some of the events for the final week of school:

MS End of Year Attendance

I have been receiving a few requests from parents to withdraw their children before the end of the school year and would therefore like to communicate the following important details regarding MS activities for the last few weeks of school.

Special Schedule on Wednesday 24 April

We will be running a special schedule on Wednesday 24 April in order to accommodate the HS senior awards ceremony at 1:00 PM in the gym. The MS/HS extended advisory block will be moved to the end of the day and will begin at 1:00 PM. This will not affect pick up time as we intend to dismiss at 2:00 PM as usual.

Elementary School French Day Celebration

The elementary school will celebrate "French Day" on Thursday 6 June and Friday 7 June. On Thursday 6 June, 8:30—10:30 AM, grade three students will host their peers from Sandford school and will participate in a scavenger hunt around the ICS campus.

MS/HS Drama Production—Thursday 25 and Friday 26 April

The MS/HS drama team proudly present an evening of drama that includes three shows, three murders and three monkeys on Thursday 25 April and Friday 26 April from 6:30—8:15 PM at the amphitheater. Entrance fee is 20ETB at the door or in advance from the casts and crew. Proceeds will go to organizations in need that are currently working with ICS community. Everyone is invited!
The shows will be:
6:30—7:30 PM: Sherlock Holmes and the Emerald of Alcazar
7:45—8:00 PM: Words Words Words
8:00—8:15 PM: Chocolate
 

University Decisions

Most of the university decisions came out by 1 April. Some of the seniors will be applying to various university systems during the summer months. ICS Seniors were accepted to the following colleges in Abu Dhabi, Canada, Dubai, Singapore, Thailand and the United Sates.

ICS International ISSAAA Track and Field Meet—18-20 April

The third annual ICS International ISSAAA Track and Field Meet is coming soon. This event attracts international schools from both outside of Ethiopia and within. Up to 70 ICS students in the middle and high school are involved. These students have been working for months to prepare with the hope of performing at their absolute peak. This is a chance to show your school spirit. Please come out and cheer for the Eagles!

Board Elections

All association members have received an election packet via email with the candidates’ letters of interest. The candidate information is also posted in the reception area. Ballots are available now so please stop by the Head of School’s office to vote. 

How to vote:
1)    Register and pick-up your ballot in the Head of School’s office
2)    On the ballot, vote for exactly four candidates
3)    Fold and drop your vote in the sealed ballot box in the Head’s office
