Elementary Coffee Mornings and Potluck Dinners

Elementary School Coffee Gatherings
Parents are invited for monthly coffee mornings with Mr. Gordon, held on the first Tuesday of every month, on the steps outside Mr. Gordon’s office (behind the reception desk). These will be informal gatherings for parents to socialize, speak to the leadership team and voice any concerns or share ideas. The first one will be Tuesday 2 October from 8:00—8:30 AM.

Grade Level Potluck Dinners

ICS grade level potluck dinners are a special tradition at ICS where parents come together, share a meal, meet teachers and administrators and more importantly the parents of the children in their child’s class. This contributes to class unity and parent participation throughout the year. “Potluck” means a shared dinner in which each family is asked to contribute a dish.

Welcome from ES Principal

Dear Parent,

Tena-yistelgn! Welcome to the elementary school at ICS Addis Ababa. If you haven’t already met me, my name is Hubert Gordon, and I will be your child’s principal during your time here in Ethiopia.

End of Year Message from ES Principal

As we end the year, I would like to thank all of the parents that came out to support our many activities this year. Living and working overseas is difficult for families, but the children at ICS have truly benefited from all of the parental support we received this year. I would like to thank our PTA for supporting not only PTA sponsored activities, but activities that were sponsored by classroom teachers, the administration and the students. It is rare to find a school where close to 100% of the parents come out to conferences, concerts, and sporting events.
