ICS Booster Club Pub Night

The ICS Booster Club raises funds to provide financial activity travel assistance to students in need. The overall goal is to be sure ICS is represented overseas with its strongest students be it for sports events or performing and fine arts opportunities. Increasing the profile of students participating in activities at ICS through thoughtful recognition is also a Booster Club goal. Please come and support the ICS Booster Club fundraiser Pub Night on Saturday 1 June at 7:00 PM in the school gym.

High School Graduation on 24 May

Our graduation ceremony is being moved from Saturday 25 May to Friday 24 May at 6:00 PM. This is being done to minimize potential disruptions and to accommodate families who will be focused on the African Union (AU) Golden Jubilee on 25 May. Approximately 50 Heads of State are expected to arrive in Addis Ababa on the morning of 25 May and many of our parents will be busy as a result. We have learned that the celebrations are expected to take place in Meskel Square and at the AU itself, throughout the day on that Saturday.

Langano and Meningitis

Many people may be traveling to Langano during the break. The rumors about a meningitis outbreak in the countryside are true and apparently it is also in the area where many of the Langano hotels, resorts and camping grounds are located. The US Embassy Mission in Addis Ababa recommends avoiding travel to these areas unless you have been vaccinated against meningitis within the past three years. If vaccinated recently, you should avoid travel to these affected areas for at least 14 days after receiving the vaccination.
