Spelling Bee News 

The month of April is an exciting month for the ES. Our Second Annual Spelling Bee is going to take place the week of 23—28 April. On 24 April, kindergarten—grade 5 students will participate in Class Spelling Bees. Grade level-suggested study words (as well as challenge words from the following grade level's list) were sent home on 17 April. Please encourage your students to study the words to help them participate in the Spelling Bee. Four students from each class will advance to the Grade Level Spelling Bee that will take place on 26 April. Six students from each Grade Level Spelling Bee will advance into the Finals. Grade 1 will hold informal Finals (date to be decided) during the school day. The grade 2—5 Final will coincide with the Spring Carnival and will be held in the ICS Gym at 10:30 AM on Saturday 28 April. For those students that will be advancing to the Finals, rules and a permission slip will be sent home on 26 April. A signed permission slip will need to be returned to the classroom before 28 April.
