Keeping the “C” in ICS Addis

Our PTA’s primary purpose is to help the school build and maintain a sense of community. We need parents and teachers volunteers for the events that pull together the community in fun and rewarding ways. Or, as our PTA vice president Martina has said, “Putting the ‘C’ in ICS.” In particular, there are three PTA events coming up this spring for which we are actively seeking volunteers.

  • Spring Festival on 27 April. We need volunteers to lead certain activities to help us put together an exciting entertainment program for the day. But we also need volunteers to show up for the Spring Festival meetings to see where the gaps may be. We need additional creative minds and efficient hands!! Our next meeting is Tuesday 5 April at 8:00 AM in cafeteria. The Spring Festival coordinator is Karla Rivera, and any interested persons can contact her by email.
  • The PTA Sports Day is coming up in May, and we are in need of parent volunteers who can help organize the event, as well as volunteers to help on the day. This is a super-fun and super-active day for everybody!! Interested parents should contact the PTA secretary, Liza Bates, by email.
  • The PTA Pub Night will be in early June, and is a fun night out for parents. In appreciation of the volunteer efforts over the year from both parents and teachers, the ICS community celebrates a night of food and drink, dancing, fun and entertainment. This is not a fund raiser! Join the PTA in organizing this very popular event. Interested parents should contact PTA Secretary, Liza Bates, by email.

Please respond to one of these PTA Volunteers to help plan or let them know you will be there to volunteer on the day at one or more of these events…there is plenty of fun camaraderie and support amongst the groups that make these events so special! We need more volunteers, even if it’s just to help at the event, so that the work load doesn’t fall on the same shoulders every time.
