Invitation to Roundabout Dedication 

ICS parents are invited to a unique and iconic event in the school's history. Coming the day after the Spring Carnival--one of the biggest events on our campus all year--it will be a very busy weekend.

We will be unveiling our "adopted" roundabout in Mekanisa near the Abbo Church at 11:00 AM on Sunday 29 April. The city's beautification agency asked us to take on this roundabout in 2011. Our monument was designed to serve as a reminder to all of us in Addis Ababa that literacy and learning are the keys that will open the world to our children. The monies for the monument were dedicated by the school from our "corporate social responsibility" funds.

The middle and high school band will perform, and there will be speeches by various city officials and other dignitaries. A local firm is helping coordinate the media for us. I expect the ceremony to last about two hours. If you would like to attend, please come to our main office to ask for an invitation. A special invitation to all PTA volunteers and to the parents of our Middle/High School Band students will be issued. Parking may be an issue at the roundabout, so car pooling is recommended.
