Important Notices for All Parents

Eid al Fitr
The anticipated Eid holiday to end Ramadan is 9 or 10 September, a Thursday or Friday. The calendar currently reflects an expected holiday on Friday 10 September, but the holiday may fall on Thursday 9 September. Parents, if the Eid holiday is announced on Wednesday night for Thursday by the Muslim Council and the Ethiopian government, there will be no school on either Thursday or Friday. We will send an SMS message from teachers to parents’ mobile phones on Wednesday night regarding whether or not there will be school on Thursday. The announcement will also be made on the local news, on our website and via email to all parents. If the holiday falls on Thursday, middle and high school students will begin with a Day 2 schedule on Monday. Eid mubarak!

Library Closed This Weekend
Because of the Ethiopian New Year holiday, the library will be closed this Saturday. See you next week.

Traffic Experts Wanted!
If you have a background in urban planning or traffic flow analysis and design, or if you work with someone who has that expertise, we would love to talk with you! The ICS Addis leadership team is considering how we can improve our drop-off and pick-up systems on campus for safety and speed. Your training or experience could be helpful! Please write to info@icsaddis.edu.et, or call the school and ask for Jim Laney or Hubert Gordon.
