Middle School Computers 

In the Middle School, the use of technology is fully integrated into the academic subjects. Students use computers with their English, Math, Science or other classes. Subject area teachers work with the students and the IT Department to ensure that students learn and practice skills in using various hardware and software.

Beginning with the 2010-2011 school year, students in the Middle School are using portable computers regularly as part of their education. This 1:1 program will involve issuing a laptop to each student and teacher, and encouraging them to use the computer to research, write reports, create projects, collaborate with classmates and others, and operate within virtual learning environments created by and managed by their teachers.

In 2010, grade 6 students began this process, and then it will be phased into Grade 7 and Grade 8 in the following two years. Further information can be found on the specific 1:1 Laptop Program pages on this website.
