My Name is Yodit Hizekiel and I am a 4th grade teacher at ICS.

I was born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and went to the Unted States as a teenager. In the United States I lived in Dallas, Texas and the surrounding areas where I got my education and my certifications to teach. I attended Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, and graduated with a Bachlor of Sciences in Elementary Education, and an associates degree in Biblical Studies. After that I received my teaching certification from the State of Texas and I am also certified with ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International). I am currently in the SUNY masters program whare I will be graduating this school year. I taught in the Garland Independent School District for four years, two years in in grade 4 and two years in grade 1and after almost twenty years in the United States, my family and I came to Ethiopia temporarily, where I have been teaching at ICS since. At ICS I have taught in third and fourth grade, and I have enjoyed all the students that I have been so lucky to teach.

I am married and my awesome husband and I have three wonderful children who attend ICS, one girl and two boys. My daughter is in seventh grade, and my sons are in fifth grade, and third grade. Both my children and I enjoy the wonderful people, and the place we all call ICS. At home I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, as well as watching movies especially those that make me think. I am also a public speaker and enjoy speaking to motivate and encourage others. I am a member and past president of ICS Toastmasters international.
