Wendy Creighton-Ayele
Grade 1
My name is Wendy Creighton-Ayele and like my students here at ICS I also went to school here in Ethiopia when I was a child. This is my first year at ICS and I look forward to teaching Grade One and getting to know the families. I previously taught Grade One at Bingham Academy here in Addis. While at Bingham I also set up their homeschool program and became an itinerant teacher for families living in various remote areas of Ethiopia. Most recently, I was Head of Early Years and a reception teacher at Sandford International School. I have also taught in Canada and was involved with community rehab programs and early intervention work.
I received my B Ed from the University of Alberta and a certificate in International teaching from the Teachers Training Center. I plan to compete my Masters in Interdisciplinary Studies through SUNY this year.
I am married to Solomon Ayele and we have two wonderful and soccer crazy boys, Kalkeydan and Emmanuel. They too are looking forward to joining the school and community of ICS.
We love to camp and travel as a family. When I have time to myself, you will find me with bits and pieces of paper and photos scrapbooking our adventures.
