Standards-Based Curriculum at ICS Addis

The curriculum at ICS Addis begins with our students: internationally mobile, often multilingual, from a variety of educational backgrounds.

The mission of ICS is to “develop the talents and intellects of a multicultural student body using learner-centered, holistic instructional methods, empowering each student to contribute to an evolving world.” The educational standards of ICS have been developed with this mission in mind.

The ICS grade-level or subject curriculum is developed around these standards, which inform our teaching and expectations. ICS curriculum includes highly regarded frameworks from around the world, including Reading and Writing Workshop, Everyday Math, Full Option Science (FOSS), and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP).

Our assessment and grading practices are designed to create positive conditions for student learning. Students and teachers work in partnership to enable students to demonstrate what they have learned, assess their progress, and identify next steps and specific strategies to maximize their potential on their class assessments.
