Sonja Hedley

Early Childhood

My name is Sonja Hedley. I was born in the Netherlands, where I obtained my qualifications as a teacher. After working in the Netherlands at a Primary School for five years,,I moved to Cameroon, where I met my husband Bob and where our eldest daughter was born. I have worked in many different countries in different schools, where I have acquired 34 years of experience. I have taught Adult Literacy in Cameroon, in a Lebanese School in Liberia, in a Children’s Rescue Center in Kenya, and set up my own Primary School in Sierra Leone. I have been a director of both the Dutch School here in Addis Ababa and an Ethiopian Private Kindergarten.
I enjoy travelling, reading and needlework.

This is my third year of teaching in the Early Childhood at ICS. I have completed 3 courses in High/Scope, which is the program we are currently following in the ECE.
