Sienna Burns
CAS Coordinator, HS Electives
This is my fourth year working at ICS. I am the CAS coordinator and I teach High School electives. I graduated from University of Massachusetts, Amherst. I majored in Anthropology and minored in history. I got my M Ed in curriculum and instruction from George Mason University outside of the DC area. I have been involved in different aspects of education since College. I was an Adventure Based Educator in the 90’s using the outdoors as a medium to teach/learn. I had the privilege of working with different student populations; at risk youth was my passion.
I am a mother of two children. Alanna is in the Second grade and Ryan is in Kindergarten. I am lucky enough to have family working and attending at ICS: My brother and sister in-law John and Helen Iglar and my niece Naidia. (Who is also in second grade.) My husband John and I have been living in Addis for 6 years and love working here and are proud to continue calling it home.
