Michael Ali
Elementary French Teacher

My name is Michael Ali. This is my fourth year at the International Community School of Addis Ababa. Prior to joining ICS, I was a “self contained” classroom teacher for 14 years at the elementary school of Lycée Guebre-Mariam here in Addis. I have also taught French as a Foreign Language at the Alliance Ethio-Française as a part time teacher.
I have a BA from Université de Rouen (France), in Language and Communication with a specialty in French as a Foreign Language a MA in the same field from the same university. I also have a teaching diploma in French as a Foreign Language (DAEFLE) from Alliance Française de Paris.
My two daughters Heldana and Nuhamin, aged respectively 13 and 9, are currently in grades 8 and 4 at ICS.
I believe that each new school year brings its own new experience. Working in an international school with so much cultural diversity is exciting and enriching.
