Martha Langille
Schoolwide Librarian
Hello! My name is Martha Langille and I am thrilled to join ICS this year as the school-wide librarian. I am here with my husband David Redmond (IB Coordinator) and two middle school-aged daughters, Maeve and Sophie. Although I have been teaching overseas for 16 years, I still consider our home to be Nova Scotia, Canada. I received a BA in English Literature from Acadia University and a MLIS from Dalhousie University. Prior to my arrival here I had the pleasure of working as a Librarian at The International School of Kenya, The American International School of Muscat in Oman and Shekou International School in Shenzhen, China.
The library is the “hub” of the school with its programs and resources supporting all that is going on in our community. My goal is to work collaboratively with colleagues and students to help them develop an appreciation of literature and to become skilled users and creators of information. There will be a number of special events sponsored by the library this year including an author visit by Toni Buzzeo in January 2012.
I am very passionate about connecting people with books and information and I look forward to meeting your children in the coming weeks! Parents are also welcome to use the library, so please drop by anytime or send me an email at martha.langille(at)icsaddis.edu.et .
