Jane Roecks

Grade 2

My name is Jane Roecks and I look forward to teaching your child in second grade at ICS. Joining me in the classroom are my teaching assistant, Ms. Martha Yigezu, and my student teacher, Mr. Alex Lancia (for the first semester). Second grade offers a dynamic curriculum and promises to be an exciting year. My teaching background includes rural, inner city, and multicultural schools in the United States and international schools in Kinshasa, New Delhi, Brasilia, Ankara, and Dakar. My philosophy of education is that all children can learn when they believe in themselves and are taught and encouraged at the appropriate level of instruction. I grew up in Wisconsin and earned my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the University of Wisconsin. In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, reading, dancing, traveling, and cooking. My husband Alan, son Adam (age 18) and daughter Jasmyn (age 17) share my hobbies with me.
