Hubert Gordon

Elementary Principal

Welcome to the International Community School of Addis Ababa’s website. My name is Hubert Gordon and I am the elementary school principal. I began working at ICSAA as a literacy coach in 2007 and later served as the K-8 (elementary and middle school) principal from 2008 – 2010. This is my fifth year at ICS and I love it! Prior to Ethiopia, I lived in Stamford Connecticut and worked in the NYC public school system as a teacher, on-site business manager, and Assistant Principal. ICS has been a professionally fulfilling work environment and I enjoy working close to my children. My wife and three kids accompany me.

Training and Education:

I received my Bachelors from SUNY at Stony Brook in Political Science; my Masters in Theology from St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary; my Masters in Teaching from CUNY Lehman College; and my Ed.M from Bank Street College of Education. I am certified by NFTE (National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship) as an Entrepreneurship teacher. I am a certified violence prevention and child abuse reporter. I am also certified to teach Social Studies 7-12 and I am a certified School Building Administrator K-12.
