Goliad Tamerou
MS French
My name is Goliad Tamerou. This is my second year working at ICS as a French teacher. I started teaching at ICS as a substitute teacher. Last academic year, I taught French as a part-time teacher in Middle school and High school. This year, I will be teaching French in Middle school and I am excited to begin my first academic year teaching full-time at ICS.
My hometown and my home of record is Addis Ababa.
In 2000 I received my B.A degree in Business Education from the Addis Ababa University. Then I joined the French school, Lycée Guebre Mariam, where I followed a two year training to become a French teacher. I taught French for grade five until February 2005. At the same time, I gave evening French classes for adults at the Alliance ethio-française and for Addis Ababa University French unit students. I also taught French at Sandford International school in Addis Ababa. I have also given French classes for the local staff of the French Embassy. In 2007, I started teaching at Laleo International language centre.
I have been teaching French for nine years. During this time, I have taken several training courses in Addis Ababa and in France. In 2008, I received my B.A in “Sciences du langage Parcours FLE” from the university of Rouen. I am currently working on an M.A(1st year) “Sciences du langage, Diffusion du français” with the University of Rouen.
I really love my profession and I love working with children. My profession has helped me learn quite a lot of things both from my students and my colleagues. I am sure that working in an international environment at ICS will be enriching. We learn something new everyday.
I will continue on building up my knowledge and sharing what I have with the students and the staff.
I enjoy playing volleyball, pétanque, bowling and taking care of my wife and my baby girl.
I am looking forward for another great year at ICS.
