Dereselign Hailu
MS Teaching Assistant
A SMILE looks good on you!
D is what I go by ... short for Dereselign Hailu. Dire Dawa, Ethiopia, is where I am from. Dire's hot weather and pleasant people could not hold on to me forever though. So here I am in Addis with a first degree in English Education acquired, and with a Master's in TEFL on its way. Before landing at this wonderful place last school year, I was an educator, editor and coordinator in six places. Global Language School was the place where I got my feet wet and St. Joseph’s where I shared and shined.
Here at ICS, I have the position of English Language Arts & Humanities TA, sixth grade. ICS Addis offers a lot of opportunities for professional development and academic excellence. Seizing the moment, I look forward to deploying my expertise on our all-round future leaders in helping them realize what they are capable of doing, as opposed to what they can already do.
And when I take a break from that, learning something new is what fills up my spare time. I try my hand at different activities: a chef I strive to be, a publisher or even an athlete.
God is good.
Peace
