Dereselign Hailu

MS Teaching Assistant

You are never fully dressed until you wear a smile. ~Martin Charnin

Born and raised in the exotic Dire Dawa, here I am in ICS Addis with a first degree in English Education, and a Master's in TEFL from Addis Ababa University. My name’s Dereselign Hailu, aka, Ato D.

At Global Language School, I set off teaching, and amongst the other places I taught, St. Jo’s, I would say is where I have invested a lot. Be that as it may, I gain a lot from working at ICS and grow by the day as much as I bring my prior teaching experience (in six places) to the school. This is because ICS is a place which is constantly under construction to be up-to-date with recent research findings redefining education and its delivery in order to make the school an all-round learner-centered home of academic excellence, creativity, innovation, and inclusion.

This is my third school year at ICS and I work as a TA. I will also teach Ethiopian Studies in the middle school, which will give me an opportunity to introduce, highlight, and provide some Ethiopian reality to take away (as opposed to perception) to our international students who pass by this beautiful land in one way or another.

And when I take a break from that, I take ownership of my time by running to my hobby of learning something new by continuing to be inspired to love life, and be motivated to live it principled, disciplined and joyfully.

God is Great.
