Construction Update

One of the outcomes of the school’s re-accreditation process and strategic plan development was the plan to improve and enhance ICS campus facilities. ICS is committed to building new facilities to enhance the curriculum and participation of students in various programs.

Four years ago the ICS Board of Governors made the decision to extend the school from the capacity of two classes per grade level to three.

A master plan was created and approved. Plesner Architects from Israel was selected by the Board to implement and design the approved master plan to the stage of design development. Tessema Demissie and Family were selected as our local architects to create the final building plans and documents. Plans for a theater, Middle School classrooms, a new Early Childhood/Elementary School, pool, and renovations of the gym have been created.

The first two buildings to be built are the theater and Middle School classroom buildings. Most of the plans have been completed. Before we can move ahead we are waiting for some approvals from the city offices. Initial preparations have been made for this major construction; soil investigation, demolitions, new septic tank, etc. Hopefully we will be able to begin construction of the theater soon.
