Brianna Balboni
This is my first time teaching internationally, and I am really looking forward to learning about a new place and a new culture in Ethiopia. I have been teaching art for the past few years in Washington, DC at the high school level, and I am excited for the new experience of working with 4th and 5th grade students at ICS.
I grew up on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, so I will miss the ocean in Addis, but hope to spend time enjoying the climate here in other ways. I have a B.A. in Art History and Art from Connecticut College and more recently completed a Master of Arts in Art Education from the Corcoran College of Art & Design in Washington, DC. I love exploring art with students and am continually inspired by the creative products that my students make and the insights they bring to looking at art. In addition to studying art history for inspiration, I strongly believe in connecting to the world of contemporary art in my classroom. I am very excited for a creative and inspiring year at ICS.
In my free time, I like to run and play soccer, travel with my husband, and work on a variety of personal artwork, most often jewelry and small sculpture.
