Amanda Brandt

Reading Specialist

My name is Amanda Brandt and this will be my second year as the elementary reading specialist at ICS. Over the past thirteen years I have worked in the field of education as a classroom teacher, literacy coach and reading specialist. Since beginning my career I have taught students in grades K-8 and look forward to the opportunity to get to know a wide range of learners here at ICS.

Originally from Chicago, I have lived and worked in a number of countries around the world. Most recently I worked as a literacy coach in the Chicago area. Outside of the classroom I enjoy reading, running, traveling and spending time with friends and family. I’m excited to spend another year being part of the vibrant, ICS community and am eager to continue exploring all that Ethiopia has to offer.
