Alan Brewer

Elementary PE

My name is Alan Brewer and I will be teaching kindergarden and third grade Physical Education, and I will also be the Director for After School Activities in the Elementary School here at ICS.

This will be my eighth year teaching Physical Education and Health. I graduated from Lipscomb University in Nashville Tennessee with a degree in Kinesiology and a K-12 teaching license. I also played division one NCAA soccer at Lipscomb during my time there and had the opportunity to play semi-professional soccer in Chicago for a summer.

After graduating, I taught high school PE in Nashville where I also coached both the boys and girls varsity soccer teams. After meeting my wife at Hillwood High School in Nashville we moved to the Dominican Republic where I taught at Carol Morgan School for four years. I taught first to third grade PE for three years and ninth grade PE and Health for one year. I was also Athletic Director for three years.

My wife is Katherine Brewer and she is the Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment here at ICS and we have two beautiful twin one and a half year old boys.
