Middle School Principal, Elizabeth Johnston

Grade 8 Transitions Event

It's hard to believe our Grade 8 students will be getting ready to leave us in just a few short months to take that next step in their educational journey: high school. This is an important time for students in the middle school as they begin to make that transition into next year's grade 9 class. There will be an information evening for parents of 8th grade students on February 13 at 6pm in the Upper Commons with High School counsellor, Alicia Brown and High School principal, David Redmond. Please save the date and plan to attend this event where high school leadership will explain the course selection process and what to expect as a parent of a grade 9 student.

Community Time

As we have a half-day this Wednesday January 18, there was no Community Time this week. Next week's Community Time is a student-led assembly. Mr. Sitch's 8th grade advisory will be leading this assembly.

AMIS Honors Festival

Each year, many wonderful choir members audition for six highly-prized spots on our AMIS Honor's Choir team. This year, young singers Allison Karabu, Jacob Tesseme, Andrew Hanson, Mpilenhle Masuku, Alayda Flick and Reese Fischer will travel with Ms. Hardy and Ms. Davis to the American School of Dubai where they will join 80 other singers from across multiple countries in a 4-day festival of music-making. Our gala concert will be streamed live at this LINK on Saturday, January 21 at 7pm (Dubai time). We're looking forward to a wonderful festival and concert in Dubai!
