Middle School Principal, Elizabeth Johnston
This week's Community Time was a House activity where houses competed in a series of challenges for the top points. All students participated well and had a great time. The 'Water Challenge' that was originally scheduled has been postponed until the weather clears up.
Course Selections Coming Soon!
Grade 8s have already begun their course selection and transition process for next school year. Our grade 6 and 7 students will soon have the opportunity to look forward and select their preferences for next year's move into grade 7 and 8. Please stay tuned for further information regarding course selections and the options for next school year for your child.
ISSEA Arts Festivals
Last week, several middle school artists, thespians and musicians headed out as members of our varsity arts teams to participate in regional festivals for the arts. Choir and Band students headed to Johannesburg where they worked with guest conductors on set repertoire and fine-tuned their skills before presenting a lively concert on Saturday night. Visual Art and Drama students headed to Harare where they participated in a series of workshops and activities that lead to a collaborative piece presented on Saturday.
Congratulations to our amazing arts students! We're so proud of you for being COURAGEOUS THINKERS who are OPEN-MINDED, KNOWLEDGABLE INQUIRERS. You've actively participated in developing yourselves as COMMUNICATORS in new ways. Well done!
Student Led Conferences Coming Soon!
Students have been actively working towards developing their student portfolios for presentation in the upcoming Student Led Conferences in April. Students are putting together examples from all their subject areas where they show growth in their learning. We're looking forward to sharing these with you soon!
Learner Profile Action Steps
As you know, we believe in 'growing learners' in the middle school. Students have been working on their Action Steps throughout the quarter, in order to improve the way they learn in their classes and at home. Ask your child about their Action Steps!
