Al Capone Does My Shirts
Al Capone Does My Shirts, by Gennifer Choldenko.
Al Capone does my shirts was printed for the first time in 2004. It is about a boy named Matthew who came to an island called Alcatraz with his dad, mom and sister Natalie who is autistic. The book makes the reader laugh loud a lot of the time. The book mainly tells about autism, but autism was not discovered until 2004. This book takes place in 1935. Matthew doesn’t like that his mom keeps Natalie still like a baby just because she is different. My favorite part of the book is when Pipper introduces herself. I recommend the book if you like funny books or if you are interested in autism.
