Having completed junior year, we all came back from summer excited to start our senior year at ICS. We kept in mind that it would come with its challenges including college applications, SAT’s, internal assessments, trying to keep up GPA’s and of course the all important IB exams. Believe it or not, most seniors have already begun living this nightmare and it is only October.

The annual celebration of the
Ethiopian Orthodox holiday of Meskel is always a spectacle at ICS, and
this year was no different. The weather was cold and the clouds loomed
over the up-field area as all the spectators filed onto the basketball
court and the students took their allotted seats on the bleachers. The
weather was no reflection of the mood as everyone was in good humor;
some were anticipating the festivities and others were just glad to be
eating popcorn and ambasha (Ethiopian bread) instead of sitting in

What’s your taste in music?

On Sunday, October 7th, Chelsea were away at the Reebok stadium to see if they could get a win against a diminished Bolton. From the beginning of the match, Bolton seemed to be the ones on top. They created chances and managed to stretch the goal keeper a couple of times. The hard work seemed to be going to waste when in the 41st minute Kalou scored and put Chelsea ahead. The second half didn't seem as eventfull as the first. Many shots went over the crossbar and Nicholas Anelka somehow manged to send a free kick from the edge of the box around 20 feet over the crossbar.

ICS had its first alumni reunion on September 10th, 2007. It was for the classes that graduated starting from the class of ’97 until graduates of the class of ‘06. Most of the people that came were from the class of ’97 because they wanted to open their time capsule they had put in the year they graduated. The time capsule was opened in honor of the millennium. This alumni event included a BBQ provided by the ICS cafeteria.
