Make reading and writing come alive with an author visit!
This January, ICS will host teacher, library media specialist, and published author of books for young children, Toni Buzzeo.
Toni will spend much of her time with elementary and middle school students during scheduled presentations. A passionate proponent of reader’s theater, Toni will help older students explore this way of understanding and communicating works of literature. Families will have an opportunity to purchase Toni’s books, and the author will be able to sign any copies during her time here. Toni will also provide staff with a professional development a workshop and possible lead a parent session. Parents are welcome to sit in on any presentation, so please watch the ICS calendar for details.
Toni’s visit has been made possible in part by funding provided by AISA (Association of International Schools in Africa). After her week here at ICS she will travel to the International School of Kenya where Toni will bring her passion for all things literary to that community and reading and writing will once again “come alive”!
Watch for details of this special school event. Please contact librarian Martha Langille at martha.langille(at)icsaddis.edu.et with any questions you may have.
