High School Principal, David Redmond

Our second week is well under way and students and teachers are settling into their routines. Thank you for your cooperation in getting us off to a positive start to the school year! Below, please find important information on current and upcoming events in the high school.

Laptops and Devices

Most students will be connected and have their school laptops by Friday, 19 August. I would like to remind parents to read and accept the Acceptable Use of Technology Terms to sign the Agreement forms as soon as possible. Students will not have access to our Internet until the signed forms have been returned to the IT Office. Students who will be using school laptops are asked to submit their deposits to the cashier’s office as well. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Assessment Calendars

Now that students have their devices and are connected to our school email accounts, they can access their Assessment Calendars, organized by grade level, on zimbra. Please know that you can check on upcoming homework, essays, tests and other assignments by viewing the assessment calendar with your child. Students should not have more than two assessments and one long-term project due on any one school day. We ask teachers to respect this rule and we encourage students to advocate for themselves in order to provide a Balance in the high school workload.

Course Changes

Please note that students may request course changes through the High School Counseling Office only until tomorrow, 19 August 2016. All such requests require the signature of parents and the approval of the High School Counselor and/or IBDP Coordinator. Course changes are subject to availability and may not always be possible due to scheduling conflicts. We ask for your understanding in this matter.

Sports and After School Activities

After School Activities will begin next week, and our season 1 sports has begun. Please discuss a range of activities with your child with regard to balancing academic, family, and other commitments. We do encourage all students to participate in our activities and we hope to see parents at our events as well.

Back to School Night

Please plan on joining us at the annual Back to School Night on 25 August from 7:00 - 9:00 PM. You will want to mark your calendars for this opportunity to meet our teachers and to learn about our programs. A schedule will be sent to you with further information.

Please continue to read the weekly Yezare Samint for important information regarding our high school program, and please don’t hesitate to contact me at for any matter pertaining to your child’s education.
