Grade 11 CAS Trip
The grade 11 students just got back from their 'Week Without Walls' program in Hawassa. They camped and worked on the SOS compound. SOS runs a school and “family style” orphanage. This “CAS retreat” in Hawassa, was a vital hands-on induction to the Creativity, Action and Service (CAS) component of the ICS High School Diploma and IB Diploma.
CAS provides students with opportunities for service learning beyond the traditional four walls of a classroom. The students were involved in a variety of projects: supporting the building of a KG building, painting and refurbishing signs as well as rehabilitating a land formation structure at the SOS compound and interacting and problem solving with the IGCSE SOS students.
