A few teething issues this week but generally it was a great start for ASAs even if the weather wasn’t accommodating! Nearly 100 students were crammed into the gym for U12 Soccer and U14 basketball Monday which was hard on the ears but fun was still had by all! This will change soon but great job on the resilience shown by the students and their coaches.
A gentle reminder: ASA participants should be picked up at the pick loop promptly at 4:30PM.
Our ISSEA volleyball teams have been selected and trip packets have gone home. Please make sure all documents and monies that are needed for travel are provided to the Activity Office/Cashier Office by 9 September. This Saturday sees our four volleyball teams (U16 and U19) who will play their first ISSAAA domestic league match's away at arch rivals Bingham. We love to see parents support these teams. Girls will be playing at 9:30 AM, boys at 10:30 AM.
Sadly, the October Greece Art trip was canceled due to low interest. However, both the French and Spanish departments are reporting significant interest in their trips and trip packets have also gone out. Please make sure the Cashier’s Office receives all money and that the Activity Office receives all documents necessary for travelling.
International trip flyers can be viewed outside the Athletics Offices or on the ICS website. School trips are becoming logistically difficult with countries enforcing more restrictions on unaccompanied minors. Embassies are taking longer to renew or issue passports. These are logistics that ICS have no control over so please recheck all your child's documents if they are planning on going on a trip this school year. We have students already in these first few, who are facing delays and possible non travel as passports are expiring or yellow fever certificates are out of date for example. Our office has multiple trips to co-ordinate throughout the year and our deadlines are set to enable each trip to be organized timely and efficiently. Please play your part by ensuring documents are valid, completed and deadlines are adhered to, as missing a trip due to this can be a very negative experience for the student. Thank you for your support as usual.
Hosting visiting ISSEA Track and Field Athletes: 137 beds to go!
Like the tortoises on campus, slowly but surely we are edging closer to our target. We have five weeks to go before the campus will be full of Athletes from the eight ISSEA schools and we need all our guests to be housed by our community for the four nights they are here between 7 – 11 October.
On the sports registration contract, just above the parent signature, there is a line to the hosting obligation for parents if their student is in any ICS sports program, so please help us with this. Many of you will have children traveling too this year, and they will be hosted also. We need you to reciprocate so please help us get this number down to zero!
