Our 45 athletes were wonderful ambassadors on and off the ISSEA playing arena's last weekend. There were some amazing individual and collective memories made on the track, fields, cross country course and volleyball courts last weekend. In Uganda on a grueling hot and hilly 5km course, girls cross country team achieved 3rd place while our boys retained their title with an outstanding team effort to take first. On the Track and Field, where the standard just keeps getting better and ISSEA records tumble further, our Boys team managed to achieve 6th place overall while our girls were just 1 point shy of the first place banner, finishing second. Multiple personal bests were created and there were numerous strong placings throughout all the events in this meeting.
At volleyball in South Africa, both teams found the opposition teams tall, powerful and tough with both ICS teams finishing in 8th place at the end of the three day tournament.
The following two weeks sees the play-offs for all U14, U16 and U19 local league tournaments. Please do check the ICS Gym weekly whiteboard for all logistics as these games will come thick and fast as team placings are decided, prior to these 'final 4' games.

The 8 school ISSAAA Track and Field meet starts next Thursday 10 November, for three days. Over 300 local athletes will be on our campus to participate and compete in U14/U16 and U19 Track and Field. This is a wonderful 3 days of competition here and please note that those facilities will be closed to all the community while this competition takes place.
Season 1 is always a little complicated with logistics and with the local track and field meeting moving to Season 1, this was a little more intense. The ISSAAA Cross country event will not be until Saturday 3 December at Bingham, and while most of our Season 1 athletes will be concluding their season very soon, this group of runners will continue their team practices until this event is concluded even though Season 2 ICS team sports for all age groups will have started. Stay tuned for opening dates for Season 2.
Students who borrowed travel bags for trips should be returning these back to the ASA office this week. Season 2 January/February trips are just around the corner and students involved in these trips ( Rugby, Basketball, Music, Band, Choir, Drama and Visual Arts) just need to keep an eye on the deadlines posted on the trip board outside the gym to ensure all documents and details are adhered to enable this travel to happen.
Its November, which means Season 1 is concluding with some very exciting events and games on campus to look forward to as the season reaches its conclusion.
Have a great week!
