Welcome to the alumni website for the International Community School of Addis Ababa. ICS is looking forward to establishing an alumni community from among the many former students of ICS and its predecessor, the American Community School (ACS). Our purpose is to provide a venue for alumni to obtain current school news, alumni events and updates, and to keep in touch with one another. The Alumni Office welcomes your input and suggestions as we continue to develop our alumni community resources.

Events and News

ICS Addis has established a new Advancement Office this year and I recently joined the team as the Advancement Director. I was formerly an ICS Addis Board member and have been in Ethiopia working in the public health sector prior to joining the ICS Addis team. The advancement team will be leading the development of a new ICS web site and coordinating events for ICS/ACS alumni.

ICS/ACS was established in 1964 and we are in the process of planning events for the 50th Anniversary. One of the projects for the 50th anniversary is a commemorative book which is being led by Robert Lucky, IB English and Creative Writing teacher. He is researching the book and your memories and anecdotes would be important to documenting the history of the school and setting the tone for the book. There is only so much that can be gleaned from old yearbooks and so he has developed a short survey with the following link:

Alumni, if you are in Addis, put the dates of 31 October - 2 November on your calendar, and plan to join us on campus for some exciting International Schools of Southern and Eastern Africa (ISSEA) soccer! We will have special alumni badges at the front gate, will have an alumni tent up at tennis court #4 and will have a reserved VIP/Alumni section of the bleachers for the Saturday games. This is an opportunity for me to meet alumni and discuss plans for events for the 50th anniversary. If you can't make it out to the game you can keep up to date on the ISSEA soccer and events via this link:

Our ISSEA volleyball teams will be in hot pursuit of ISSEA glory in Lusaka. Last year the girls got silver and the boys bronze. Let's get behind them even if it is from afar and will them on to GOLD! You can follow the action on our Facebook page and the link is:

I'm looking forward to building our ICS/ACS alumni community and having some great events for our upcoming 50th!
