Welcome 

Welcome to the alumni website for the International Community School of Addis Ababa. ICS is looking forward to establishing an alumni community from among the many former students of ICS and its predecessor, the American Community School (ACS). Our purpose is to provide a venue for alumni to obtain current school news, alumni events and updates, and to keep in touch with one another. The Alumni Office welcomes your input and suggestions as we continue to develop our alumni community resources.

Events and News

Construction at ICS

The ICS Board of Governors commissioned a facilities master plan in 2001, and one part of that plan was completed in 2006, the MS/HS block. The master plan has since been updated to include space for three sections at each grade level, an indoor performing arts building and a swimming pool. A new staff building with office and changing rooms has just been completed, as well as the new high school offices and classrooms, located in the MS/HS building where the middle school lockers once were. ICS is now moving forward with the plans for the performing arts building and an additional MS/HS classroom block.

Reunions

Marnie (Shuey) Simon '69, who attended ACS from 1965-68, has generously provided the Alumni Office with photos and slides taken by her mother, Betty Shuey, during their family's time in Addis and at ACS. Betty Shuey taught in the elementary school and Marnie's father, Bill Shuey, served as the first director.
