Welcome to the alumni website for the International Community School of Addis Ababa. ICS is looking forward to establishing an alumni community from among the many former students of ICS and its predecessor, the American Community School (ACS). Our purpose is to provide a venue for alumni to obtain current school news, alumni events and updates, and to keep in touch with one another. The April issue of the Zena Admas is here and two ICS alumni are profiled in the Alumni News section. Both Bjarte Birkeland '98 and Adam Kidane '97 have been very busy since graduation, and you can read more about them in the Zena Admas, available in pdf form here.
To hear more from Lulit Amdemariam '97, check out her column Life Matters in the weekly business newspaper Fortune. She provides keen and thoughtful insight into many current issues in Ethiopia, including a post-ICS-alumni-reunion reflection on the Ethiopian school system.
Another alumnus who is making a splash in the arts scene is Yehdego "Bobby" Abeselom '98, writer, director and producer of the film "13 Months of Sunshine". You can read more about the movie and view a trailer by visiting www.13monthsofsunshine.com. In Bobby's words: "It’s a film about the life of the diaspora, the allure of coffee and the complications of love while pursuing the American dream." The on-line Ethiopian American Magazine praises the movie, 'A beautiful film, beautifully shot and directed. "13 Months of Sunshine" has set a new standard for Ethiopian films made in the US.' The movie is now playing at Edna Mall.

Reunion Update! Make sure to RSVP for the reunion dinner on June 6 at the Ethiopian Embassy in Washington, DC. We are anticipating a great event! Both Mrs. Astrid Shiferaw and Wzo Teweduda (TD) will be in attendance. Thank you to Larry Schneider '74, who is hard at work making the arrangements for the dinner and the Saturday cruise.
