Moving to Addis

The ICS Parent Teacher Association (PTA) maintains a guide to living in Addis Ababa, with many useful contacts, tips and advice on topics from health, education and entertainment to shopping and history. It was up-to-date at the time of publication (June 2011), but some details may have changed. The 3rd edition is available for download as a pdf: Welcome to Addis Guide (818 kb). Parents interested in contributing to the next edition of the guide should contact the Parent Teacher Association (PTA).

If you have already printed out the 2nd edition (May 2010) and would like only the latest updates from the 3rd edition, please download the update file (314 kb).

A new online Question and Answer group is also available for families interested in moving to Ethiopia: http://groups.google.com/group/qaa-ethiopia. This group is not affiliated with ICS, but many ICS parents are involved. Feel free to post your questions!

Prospective and incoming ICS families interested in communicating with a current ICS family are welcome to contact the Admissions Office for more information. We have a group of parents willing to answer questions from prospective ICS families; they represent 30 languages and have lived in more than 70 countries.
