ICS Admissions
The International Community School of Addis Ababa is a multicultural international school that values productive interactions and partnerships between students, teachers and parents. At the heart of the school culture is tolerance and acceptance of others, high academic expectations, nonviolence and positive collaboration, which we believe are essential for academic success.
ICS accepts students who can be successful in the regular academic program. ICS does not discriminate on the basis of religion, ethnic or national origin or gender in its admissions and educational policies. Admission is based upon completed application forms, previous school records and results from previous or current academic testing as required by the professional staff to determine:
- the potential of the applicant to benefit from the educational services available
- the capacity of the school to meet the educational needs of the applicant and
- the ability of the school to meet the behavioral or emotional needs of the applicant
Applying to ICS
ICS accepts applications throughout the school year, but we encourage families to plan to start school in August, if possible. We are currently accepting applications for the 2010-11 school year. We give priority to applications based on the Admissions Guidelines and in the order in which we receive the complete application materials; if space is not available in a class, the applicant will be placed on a waiting list. An application checklist and all the application forms are available here. To contact the Admissions Office, we recommend that you complete the Admissions Inquiry form, as direct emails sometimes do not reach us. The Admissions Office will respond to your inquiry within one to two business days.
