Welcome to our Library – an inviting and busy place on our campus!
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
The ICS Library is a community resource supporting its patrons in becoming effective users and producers of information and ideas. By providing access to dynamic collections, effective tools, and flexible learning spaces, both physical and virtual, we aim to enrich, educate and empower all community members.
The goals of our instructional program include instilling a love of reading and fostering information literacy skills. The Library also sponsors a number of special events during the school year including author visits, reading incentive programs, Children's Book Week celebrations, Teen Read Week, Poetry Month, and Book Clubs.
The Library has a comprehensive print and digital collection of books, periodicals and research resources. Access our catalog here.
ES Summer Reading Challenge: Reading Without Walls!
You are invited to take part in our Reading Without Walls summer reading challenge! Created by author Gene Luen Yang, we encourage you to read books you wouldn’t normally choose to read on your own. Set a reading goal for yourself and keep track of the books you read on the log. (Click HERE for the full brochure).
Remember to read books that are just right for you. Use the five-finger rule! See our reading list (Click HERE) to choose some suggested titles.
You may also want to borrow books or visit a public library if you find yourself near one. You can receive a visitor’s library card and also take part in lots of interesting and fun programs for kids.
Return your reading log to the elementary library when you return to ICS in August. We will award prizes and have a reading celebration early in September.
Have a terrific holiday everyone!
