My name is Yared Deneke. I am an Ethiopian. I am married and have two children. I am the Network Manager at ICS. I have been at ICS for over 10 years holding positions as a substitute teacher, then as a Middle and High School Math and Computers Teacher and also as a Computer Technician. After earning my MSc. in Computer Science in late 1998, I was offered my current postion of Network Manager.

As the Network Manager I manage various information systems. Most of the server and network systems we use are FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) based solutions. I am a FOSS advocate where it is applicable. My interest in freely available software has led to a membership at EFOSSNet: a network of IT professionals in Ethiopia whose aim is to promote the use of FOSS in Ethiopia.

In addition to my responsibilities, I have enjoyed working with Independent Studies students where I have taught various computer skills. I have also taught IB SL Computers.

I am an avid tennis player. I enjoy reading and listening to music.
