ICS won the inter-city track meet that took place on the 4th and 5th of April. Bingham, Sanford, the Italian school, the German school, and St. Joe's all participated in the meet.

Although they fought hard ICS took some of the events because they had the only competitor in the event. This was true of the junior and JV boy’s 300 meter hurdles Karl and Sager took these events respectively. Following the meet Karl said, "The only thing that slowed me down out there was my own laughter.”

To kick off author’s week at ICS, Guy Calaf, who was shot in Iraq, visited the Media Studies class at ICS. He has also been beaten, not only by locals but also by police.

On Monday, the 10th of March, he came and told about his career trying to take pictures as a photojournalist. He said that he had seen colleagues and friends killed in the field.

Construction has already begun on the ICS campus according to Mr. Laney during an interview with HUMS on March 5. They are going to knock down many buildings and build a lot more new ones.

ICS is going to build new classrooms and office rooms in the middle-school area. They will knock down the whole middle and high-school office building to build an indoor theater to make it easier for assemblies and plays.

Everyone is waiting for a pool but it will not be made for some time unfortunately.

Eighth grade dominates fools Olympics to take Middle School Spirit Week Championship. This was the class of 2012’s first Spirit Week championship. This Spirit Week took place in the week of February 18, 2008.

It was a hot day on Friday 22, 2008, the day of Fools Olympics. The students were drinking lots of water, putting sun-screen lotion, cheering and having fun during the continuous entertainment.

On April 4th there is going to be the ISSAAA City Wide Track & Field Tournament in Addis Ababa. On April 16th to April 21st the CAC track meet will take place in Cairo, Egypt.

The track activity is in its 2nd season. I.C.S practices every day until 5:15 p.m.

Mr. Boychuk feels that Track & Field is one of the best sports because you can challenge yourself, others, and as a team.

According to Mrs. Glittenberg this year’s yearbook will have two bonus features. The media studies class asked her to give us a preview but she wants to keep these mysterious surprises a secret until the yearbook is published.

Mrs. Glittenberg thinks that last year there was not enough information about Middle-School in the yearbook. She also did not have any feedback from Middle-Schoolers about last year’s yearbook and hopes that she will receive some this year.

At the end of November the 6th graders went on a three day trip to Bahir Dar. They went on a two and a half hour hike up in the mountains to see a famous waterfall. The 6th graders also measured how fast the Nile River flows.

Some of the comments on this trip were, "We should have more of these because its fun, tiring and cool." I loved the whole trip, even when we got half wet while crossing a stream and I wet my best pair of jeans."

On Friday the 25th of January Middle School had their award ceremony in the multi purpose room. Many parents attended to see their children receive awards for either honors or high honors.

This ceremony was held to reward the hard work done by the students during the second quarter. Many students were excited before they got their award.

The Student Council organized and gave the awards. Many students got an award and the people who didn't were still cheering their friends.
