ISSEA 2008

The 18th ISSEA tournament was held in Addis Ababa in November, 2008. Varsity girls and boys teams competed for three days in volleyball and six-a-side soccer. Each team could only have fifteen athletes on the roster, so many students played in both sports.

ISSEA is the International Schools of Southern & Eastern African league. Six schools, the American International School of Johannesburg, Harare International School, International Community School of Addis Ababa, International School of Kenya, International School of Tanganyika and the International School of Uganda have actively participated annually since the first ISSEA tournament was held in 2000. Schools send their finest athletes each November to compete in the soccer & volleyball tournaments. The tournament takes place in a different school each year and ICS was proud to host 150 athletes for ISSEA 2008. Additionally, an ISSEA basketball tournament is held annually in March.
